Ο Ποταμός της Μύρτου και οι πηγές του αποτελούν ένα από τους σημαντικότερους πνεύομνες που τροφοδοτούν την περιοχή μας και τους ανθρώπους της με ζωή, ανάπτυξη και πρόοδο. Όμως δεν συγκεντρώνει το ανάλογο ενδιαφέρον. Παρά τις αρνητικές ανθρώπινες παρεμβάσεις διατηρείται σε σχετικά καλή κατάσταση, γεγονός που δεν είναι άσχετο και με την διαπίστωση για την πολύ καλή ταυτότητα των νερών κολύμβησης. της Μύρτου Όμως η συσπείρωση των δημοτών, των αγροτών των νέων θα προσδώσει τεράστια ώθηση στην διαμόρφωσή του σε άξονα αειφορίας.
